This is a film about the Jews from Halle (Saale) who fled to Shanghai.

At 2:01 there is a photo where there is a girl who looks to be my mother.

At 4:43 there is a photo of my mother’s uncle & aunt, Julius Pfifferling & Dorthea (Kahn) Pfifferling. Julius was murdered at KZ Buchenwald in 1938. Dorthea went to England in 1939. My mother’s uncle, Fritz Pfifferling, also fled to Shanghai in 1939 where he died in 1942.

At 28:50 there is a photo of  the stolpersteine that I had made for Julius. On 22 March, 2018 there will  be a stolpersteine for Fritz placed next to the one for his brother.

Unfortunately, the students who produced the film did not contact me, because Dorthea did not emigrate to Shanghai, as did Fritz. Therefore Julius and Dorthea Pfifferling should not be included in the film. Regardless, it very interesting to see.
