The transport of 1 June 1942 From Kassel-Halle to Sobibor, which included Alfred & Pauline Katzenstein, Tekla, Recha, & Hannacha Cohn and Selma Appel:

In 155 Halle, 155 Jews were joined, as is evident from the correspondence of the Gestapo Hall with the Chief Financial Officer in Magdeburg [LHASA Magdeburg, MD G1 / 390]. The Halle transport was also planned very early. The people who were destined for the deportation were informed about their imminent “emigration” in Halle on April 11, in the municipal office to receive further instructions and to complete the declarations of assets. Several suicides from this period are documented, such as for the married couple Gertrud and Siegfried Reyersbach from Weißenfels, the 16.4. voluntarily separated from life [300 years of Jews in Halle, Halle, 1992, p. 255, 259].
